Friday, November 22, 2002 the bush administration plans to loosen up clean air regulations. if chunks of antarctica the size of rhode island continue to break off, there won't be enough land (land that isn't submerged under water, that is) to house and provide for all those embryos they insist on saving. lovely thought, isn't it? ************** me: i just want to know why you felt it was necessary to take off 5 points on a parody skit. out of 30. feeney: it was too abrupt. ... me: i'm not done asking questions, actually. feeney: there's nothing left to talk about. me: i'm not leaving. i don't see how i should get an 83 on this, seeing how i followed everything line by line. i did exactly everything you told us to do. feeney: i should be able to look at it and see that it's obviously the "mouse trap" [from Hamlet]. me: well, then you should have said that. [besides the fact that his inability to see the point might mean that he has a problem. and besides the fact that he said we could do anything. i love how he always says "it's your house" then takes off points if your argument doesn't concur with his ill-stated vision] feeney: it's kind of obvious. and i didn't get the point of your skit. me: you know, if this was a creative class, i would understand. but it's not. and i don't see how this is going to help me on the ap exam. feeney: you're undermining my authority. and i didn't get the point. me: if i don't get the point of some of the things you say in class, does that mean that you're a bad teacher and i should call the administration and tell them that? feeney: go ahead. you're undermining my authority. fine, i'll give you a 30/30 and change it in my grade book. happy? ::angrily scribbles on my paper:: me: that's not the point... ::leave:: the part that he said was too abrupt was just following the format of "mouse trap". i didn't claim it was perfect. i just don't see how him not "getting the point" of a creative writing assignment in a literature and composition class merits him taking 5 points off. that's it. i'm not wasting any more time on the man in this blogger. finis. i swear. ************** 7pm (last night): wake up from 5 hour nap, thinking, "shit." 8pm: Eat dinner. Duk-bok-ee rocks (no, it does not involve duck). So do oatmeal raisin cookies. 9pm: Go online. Blog for a while. Decide to read other people's blogs. Discover some EB blogs by accident (or not so accident) while looking for a friend's xanga. Some were a good read... some not. Discover this. Horrors. (If you're reading, hi, Lee. ^_~) 10pm: Tell people on AIM i'm starting my english essay. Read more blogs. 11pm: Discover fun but annoying and addictive helicopter game. Swear to self that I'll get off in 15 min. 11:30pm: Still playing helicopter game. 12am: Decide helicopter game is a lost cause. Chat with folks on AIM for a while, including my lovechild. 12:30am: Decide that if I don't start my english essay, I'll be really screwed tomorrow (today). Start skimming Part II of Camus' L'Etranger to get some ideas for "the absurdity of law". 1:15 am:Getting sleepy. Decide an hour nap is in order. Set cell phone alarm for 2am, set regular alarm for 4am (just in case). Sleep. 2am: Turn cell phone alarm off. 15 min later, turn cell phone alarm off. Again. For good. 3am: I should get up. Study for chem, do spanish hw. But then again, I only need 1-2hrs to write the essay, rt? And I do have lunch tomorrow. Kimmel couldn't possibly be giving us a quiz. Back to sleep. 4am: Wake up from strange dream about little kids having supernatural powers and running away from bad guys. They can send out incapacitating mental rays. They grab their heads, look like they're constipated for a while, and *presto*, bad guys are gone. Wake up to annoying second alarm. Decide to take care of personal hygiene needs. 6:30am: Done with English. Not too impressive, but who gives a fuck? Do spanish in 10 min before breakfast. at school: feeling incredibly chipper about having gotten 7+ hrs of sleep the night before (despite not getting it all together at once). until i get to chem. and decide i hate drawing lewis structures. go to gym; suck at volleyball. enjoy spevack's free food. play tetris in stat. come home. decide i'd rather not fail the next chem quiz and vow to never procrastinate like this again. laugh at self... run 3.5 hour (yes you read right) a capella rehearsal. --posted by M @ 5:26 PM | 0 comments 0 Comments: |
