Monday, December 09, 2002 it's amazing how some people try to cover up their insecurities with arrogance. i look at these people, and it's so easy to see that, albeit in slightly dissimilar ways, they want so badly to be "popular". arrogance is definitely one of the least attractive traits in the world. and i'm not talking about science-nerd arrogance here, where sometimes, arrogance is merited or at least one can understand where it's coming from. i'm talking about people who are totally not in a position to be arrogant, or people who try to rub it in. it's amusing in a sense to watch them try so hard... and after the fiftieth time, fall flat on their faces. then again, it's also pitiful. i sympathize with the person who deals with any lack of self-esteem quietly than those who try to cover it up ostentatiously. at the same time, i hate myself for letting these people get to me. but i guess i'm nothing if not easily riled up. sometimes i get the feeling that they have these brief bouts of lucidity where they know that their efforts are only hurting themselves and pissing everyone off, but they get this self-destructive and juvenile urge to continue being asses just to spite the world. anyway, stat is mindnumbing. i should start paying more attn in class. sorry for this very uninteresting post. --posted by M @ 11:30 PM | 0 comments 0 Comments: |
