Wednesday, November 12, 2003 i can't decide whether i like philosophy or hate it. some things are certain though: i'd never major in it, partly for grade reasons, and partly because it would cause my life to become one massive, never-ending headache, sucking away time from doing other things that i should/want to be doing. i didn't like my TA at the beginning of the term... he gave off annoying vibes like that character that tim robbins plays in high fidelity (maybe it's because he wears multiple bracelets sometimes? like bangles and beaded ones--very new-age-y... and no, he's not gay, he has a wife), but now, i'm so so so so grateful for his extension policies. :-P and even though his grades are eating me alive, at least he knows what he's doing and is more than willing to set aside time to work with us on it. that beats some teachers i've had in the past... good TAs are amazing. they all deserve major props. because otherwise i'd be failing out of every class... i'm asleep in just about every lecture so the only way i can make it up is if the TA is thorough and explains things well... how i feel about this place largely depends on my stress level and workload. when i do minimal amounts of work and get good grades, i love love LOVE this place. i can imagine being elsewhere i guess, but i can't imagine myself being too much happier. and when i feel ridiculously stupid/know that i screwed myself over and it's POURING outside and windy to boot, i just want to crawl into a hole and hibernate until all the bad things go away. i'm a pro at denial; how do you think my napping habit got started? and i still do it... --posted by M @ 4:22 PM | 0 comments 0 Comments: |
