things i like about the first real snowfall: - it can make any place (even the most smoggiest of cities like seoul) feel cleaner... at least, before it all turns to slush
- the muffled quiet. it's so hard to describe, but at that moment i feel like the world is my cocoon and i'm safe in it... that nothing can really ever go wrong, and that life has slowed down to the peaceful and gentle nature of a snowflake drifting down. it's feels like i'm in the contained world of a snowglobe, really.
- little kids running around. they're just so gleeful that it's downright contagious... and i've had too much fun with snowmen, snowballs, and hot chocolate after coming in from the cold that it's hard to look at these kids and not recall fond memories...
- catching a snowflake on your tongue. :-)
- school closings, or at least burrowing under your covers for 5 more minutes while it's snowing hard outside (and you're desperately wishing for a school closing)
- seeing snowflakes coating eyelashes-- makes anyone (or anything, in the case of animals) look cute, IMO
things that suck: - slush, driving, freezing then making me slip on black ice and fall on my ass into slush
- trying to run back home while the wind is blowing it straight into my face and i'm not even wearing a coat (like today, while I ran next to the Han River and within 5 minutes it went from a really bright sunset to lots of big fat snowflakes blinding my vision and making me feel very, very wet... although, thank goodness for the genius that invented synthetic materials such as fleece)
